Humanity witnessed the creation of the first computer in 1822 by Charles Babbage. Ever since then, the technology around us has progressed rapidly. Throughout our day, we see ourselves using technology in one way or another.

These machines have become a significant part of our lives, doing jobs that are too tiring and time-consuming for us. As a result, humans have been putting more effort into making these machines even more advance and flexible.

The smartphones that we use today can do much more than just calling people. We can

• Get music, movies and apps recommendations according to our taste
• Take pictures with funny filters
• Find the shortest routes for our destinations.

All of the applications mentioned above are now possible due to 1 technological concept: Artificial Intelligence.

Humanity is considered to be intelligent. So what is that “something” that makes us intelligent?

Intelligence

Intelligence is the ability to learn and understand.

Examples of intelligence might be:

• A child understanding and recognizing fruits and vegetables by their appearance
• A person solving a mathematical problem
• Students understanding what the teacher is speaking in the class
• A leader making decisions under pressure
• A child feeling sad after being scolded by his/her parents.

These examples might seem to be fairly easy and you might not even consider them to be hints of intelligence. However, that is not the case. Each of these examples shows intelligence at some level.
